Gate types
The right type depends on the room you have beside and in front of the opening.
Sliding gate
Rolls along the fence line. Good for wide driveways where a swing gate has no room to open.
Telescopic gate
Two or more panels slide behind each other, so it needs less room beside the opening.
Swing gate
One or two leaves that open inward. Simple and classic.
Walk-through gate
A person-size gate in the fence line, with a latch or a lock.

Sliding, swing or telescopic: which gate do I need?
It comes down to space. A swing gate needs room to open inward; a sliding gate needs room along the fence beside the opening; a telescopic gate needs the least side room because its panels stack. J & M looks at your driveway during the free estimate and tells you what fits.
Can the gate be automatic?
Sliding, swing and telescopic gates can all take a motor with remotes. Ask about automation during the estimate; in the estimator you can add an opener to see the difference.
Can you make a gate that matches my fence?
Yes. J & M builds gates and fences together with the same slats, color and design, so they read as one piece.
Aluminum or iron for a gate?
Aluminum is lighter, which is easier on hinges and motors, and it does not rust. Iron is heavier and suits ornamental work. Both can be finished in the color you want.
